Skin in focus

In vitro testing plays a crucial role in the cosmetics industry. By using in vitro methods, the biological effects of skin cells on various ingredients can be analysed without having to resort to animal testing. For this purpose, BioTeSys uses both standardised cellular and organotypic models.

A key objective of in vitro testing in skin care is to evaluate the effect on cell health and regeneration. We offer the following tests for this purpose:

Another important aspect is the investigation of the skin compatibility of new products:

  • In vitro skin irritation (OECD TG 439), non-GLP
  • In Vitro Skin Corrosion: Reconstructed Human Epidermis (Rhe) Test Method (OECD TG 431), non-GLP
  • Biological evaluation of medical devices - Part 10: Tests for skin sensitization (ISO 10993-10:2021), non-GLP
