TARGET ORGAN: SKIN

In vitro testing plays a crucial role in the cosmetics industry. Through in vitro methods, the biological effects of various ingredients on skin cells can be analyzed without resorting to animal testing. Biotesys uses both standardized cellular and organotypic models for this purpose. 

A central aim of in vitro testing in skin care is to evaluate the effect on cell health and regeneration. We offer the following tests for this purpose:

• Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capacity
• Proliferative effect (e.g. of keratinocytes or hair follicle cells)
• Upregulation of cellular anti-aging markers
• Wound healing

Another important aspect is the investigation of the skin compatibility of new products:

• In vitro skin irritation (ISO 10993-23/ OECD TG 439), non-GLP
• In vitro skin corrosion (OECD TG 431), non-GLP
• In vitro sensitization (ISO 10993-10), non-GLP
